When used without wheels, the PLAST-AX 3m3 front lift bin offers an impressively low fill height, making it simple for users to lift the lids and load waste comfortably. Just like the 4.5m3 model, it features a thick, reinforced base designed to sit directly on concrete, gravel, or grass for years. Steel bins in similar conditions often rust out quickly, while PLAST-AX plastic construction withstands wet winters without deterioration.

With wheels fitted, the PLAST-AX 3m front load waste bin becomes exceptionally easy to manoeuvre by hand. Thanks to our controlled plastic manufacturing process, we reinforce strength only where it is needed, avoiding unnecessary weight. This keeps the tare weight low and enhances daily handling for operators.

Design Strength: Testing

PLAST-AX guarantees that every one of our FEL bins manufactured will meet performance requirements and specifications in BS EN 12574-2:2017.

The tests include a continuous 100 lift-tilt cycle at the ‘heavy waste’ load of 400kg/m³. Full video recordings and a comprehensive Test Report are readily available on request.

Bin Lid Options

Lids on both the 3m3 and 4.5m3 units open against the ribbed back section in a tongue-and-groove layout. This ensures the entire lid surface absorbs impact evenly rather than concentrating stress in a single area. A recessed lift zone in the top rim provides comfortable access while preserving lid strength.

Lockbar

Our hot-dip galvanised lockbar and bracket assemblies can be retrofitted to existing bins. They bolt securely into captive female fixings integrated into the reinforced box-section rim, ensuring a reliable and tamper-resistant locking solution.

Wheels

125mm wheel sets include two fixed directional castors and two swivel castors with brakes. Options include a 1200kg-rated red polyurethane outer on a cast iron core, or a 600kg-rated blue rubber outer on a black PU core for smaller bins. All wheel sets come with stainless steel hardware.
